John Kemper III of Lexington told GOP members gathered in Murray to celebrate Lincoln’s birthday that there has not been a GOP auditor in forty years. Lack of strong oversight has led to waste, fraud and abuse of government funds and services. The result is that the legislature has a reason to raise taxes.

If elected, Kemper would put all expenditures on line for transparency. He believes that would lead to better behavior by government agencies.

Addia Wuchner is a member of the General Assembly from Northern Kentucky. Wuchner described herself as tougher than she looks. The former hospital administrator said private business has profit as a motivator, government has auditors.
