James Comer, a 5th generation farmer, runs a land and cattle company in Monroe County. Comer is a six term representative in the Kentucky House representing Cumberland, Green, Metcalf and Monroe Counties. Comer called himself pro-life, pro-liberty and pronounced himself against “every piece of legislation Obama and the liberals have presented.”
If elected, Comer vowed to travel and support Republican candidates like Steve Rudy.
Rob Rothenburger, a cattle farmer, currently serves as Shelby County judge executive. He said that he will fight the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) because it is hurting the $4.5 billion dollar agriculture industry. He also said that he will fight the FDA that is a detriment to large farmers.
If elected, he will hold regional meetings throughout the state with farmers to promote agriculture across the state.
